The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) will receive an extra $9.2 million over four years to help stop sham contracting and other forms of non-compliance with workplace laws.
As non-compliance has been a steady source of public concern, and considering even large organisations such as Woolworths, Bunnings, the ABC and oh-so-many others have been at fault it is probably quite an appropriate response.
Sham contracting is but one of any issues the Fair Work Commission (FWC) have been addressing, and it is very important to understand that directors and small business owners alike are being fined right along side their company/business. This is known as assessorial liability.
