Compilation of where to find your information

Unfortunately, the amount of false and half-baked information floating around is a pandemic within itself, that coupled with the fact that any updates we could even consider writing for release have actually been out of date by the time we have proofread and fact checked!

Our response to this is to simply create a page within out site where you can find the information you need from its source. Below we have created a simple way of getting the information you may need by simply following the links.

We wish you all the best and strongly advise that you start planning TODAY for how you will cope with not just only a complete lockdown, but how your business will be able to come back from this and grow in an economy that will have changed and a lifestyle that has a new ‘normal’.

We will be endeavouring to create some informative blogs on how to prepare for the post COVID 19 economy and things to think about whilst you are creating your post COVID19 strategies. Naturally, if you need us during this time, we are still trading and are here to help.

Working from home

It is imperative that all businesses investigate work from home options, however, you must ensure that you do it correctly and don’t place yourself at risk. Check out our Knowledge Centre for more information

Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman COVID19 Info

The ASBFEO’s role is to support small businesses and family enterprises to enable them to grow and thrive.

The ASBFEO was launched on 11 March 2016 and has two key functions: to assist and to advocate for small businesses and family enterprises.

We understand the challenges facing small business owners. We provide access to dispute resolution services for those who may be involved in a disagreement, so they can try and find a solution to their problem without having to go to court.

There are a number of different activities the Ombudsman may conduct in fulfilling the role of small business advocate. Broadly these include:

  • Conduct inquiries and research
  • Work with other arms of government
  • Contribute to other inquiries
  • Promote good business practice

COVID19 Resources

COVID-19 support available

Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)

In coordination with the Council of Financial Regulators (CFR), ASIC is focusing its regulatory efforts on challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)

On this page you will find the latest information on consumer rights, travel and event cancellations in relation to COVID-19. This will be updated regularly as new guidance is available.

The ACCC understands many businesses are struggling to manage cancellations at this time. Mindful of this we are urging consumers to remain patient, and where possible to contact the business by email or website, rather than by phone. These are very complex issues and may take smaller businesses more time to respond.

The ACCC is alert to any instances of unfair or unconscionable conduct on the part of businesses in dealing with consumers during the current crisis.
